Heavy Manufacturing
Metals, fabrication, heavy engineering and capital-intensive production environments where asset reliability and planned maintenance are directly tied to commercial performance.
We are a team of engineers with over 15 years of hands-on heavy manufacturing experience between us. We set up X-Tech Engineering because we kept seeing the same problems on site — and knew exactly how to fix them.
We have spent our careers in heavy manufacturing — dealing with breakdowns at 2am, trying to get shutdowns finished on time with half the contractors missing, and sitting in post-incident meetings asking why the same pump has failed three times this year. We know what it looks like when maintenance systems are not working, because we have lived it.
X-Tech Engineering exists because there is a gap in the market between large consultancies that charge a fortune and disappear after the report, and going it alone with no outside perspective. We sit in the middle — experienced enough to know what good looks like, and small enough to actually care about your site's results.
When you work with us, you get engineers who understand your world. Not account managers reading from a slide deck.
Our team's background is in heavy and continuous manufacturing — the kind of environments where a two-hour unplanned stoppage costs real money and where safety cannot be an afterthought.
Metals, fabrication, heavy engineering and capital-intensive production environments where asset reliability and planned maintenance are directly tied to commercial performance.
Continuous process plant, water and energy environments where assets run around the clock and the cost of failure goes well beyond the repair bill.
High-throughput production with tight maintenance windows, hygiene constraints and the kind of production pressure that makes cutting corners feel tempting — and costly.
Project and contracting environments where scope management, contractor coordination and safety documentation have to be right before a single tool is picked up.
Every engagement starts with us understanding what is actually happening on your site — not what the data says should be happening. From there we agree a practical scope, get on with it and deliver things your team can actually use.
We work with maintenance managers, engineering leads and operations directors who need a straight-talking external perspective and the experience to back it up. Whether that is a one-off site review, a structured improvement programme or ongoing retained support — we fit around your operation, not the other way round.
We are based in Wrexham and work regularly across North Wales and the North West of England. We also support UK-wide clients remotely where on-site visits are not needed.
We have probably seen it before. Get in touch and we will give you an honest view of what we think is causing it and what we can do about it.
